DN700, PN10 Flowtite pressure pipe was used to reline a corroded DN900 steel pressure main. The contractor inserted the Flowtite pipe at bends, joining pipes and then sliding into the existing steel pipe. Pushes ranged from 165 meters to 60 meters depending on spacing between bends. To maintain spacing between the existing steel and the new Flowtite pipe, polyethylene spacing (sliding) sleeves were used. After completion of the insertion a lightweight grout with a specific weight of 600 kg/m2 was used to fill the annular space.
This case study can be used to demonstrate that Flowtite pressure pipe has been used to rehabilitate a deteriorated pressure pipe by the sliplining method.
